3D input and output devices

Intersense
Various 3D tracking and display technologies

Roland
makes desktop laser scanners, 3D printers, engravers, milling machines...

Z Corporation
Z400 3D Printer: a cabinet-sized device produces objects up to 10" made of powder-based layers

Spheron
PanoCamPanoramic cameras for QTVR, starting at about $10,000

Panoscan
Panoramic cameras using PhaseOne and Nikon components. Complete hardware/software package $28,900

Point Grey Research
Small, board-level Firewire cameras, the Dragonfly ($795) and Firefly ($595). Pt. Grey also makes stereoscopic cameras and tracking software.

FaceLAB
uses dual cameras to track gaze and head position. $25,000

Eyetronics
3D scanning software for use with off-the-shelf hardware (PC, camera, slide projector). Their Liquid Faces facial tracking and modeling software is $7,500

Minolta laser scanners

TCTI
showed their 3dmd face scanner. Pictured at right, scans were taken and printed using a rapid prototyping machine resulting in a small model pictured at right.

Ascension Technology Corp.
makes various motion tracking systems, including the Flock of Birds and laserBIRD.

3rd Tech
Laser scanners and wide-area tracking systems such as the HiBall-3000 ($40,000)

Display

Actualdepth
Very impressive 3D LCDs using dual LCD panels. Set up like a dual-monitor system but overlapping, with anything white on the front screen rendered transparent. Nice, sharp, real 3D effect. 13" starts at $2500.

4D Displays
Glasses-free LCD and plasma monitors, using lenticular stereoscopic technology. In my opinion, not as nice as ActualDepth, but better than many others.

TAN
High-res, high-brightness and stereoscopic projectors for immersive VR

Minolta Forgettable Display
Lightweight display for wearables using prism and holographic display

Kaiser Electro-Optical
Military and industrial head-mounted displays, heads-up displays, etc.

eLumens
Personal and multi-user dome displays, now XGA resolution, using TrueMotion compression technology
