Animation
Body Story by Dominic Buttimore, The Moving Picture Company
An impressive 3D fly-through of various microscopic body systems. 48 minutes of animation were created for a series shown on the Discovery Channel. Modeled primarily in Maya, with some custom renderers written.

Where is Frank? by Angela Jedek, Filmakademie Baden-WŸrttemberg
Notable for its realistic facial animation, and dirty, impressionistic look -->

Ice Age by John Donkin, Blue Sky Studios
Cartooniish and exaggerated but realistically immersive. The short shown in SIGGRAPH's Electronic Theater is apparently completely different from the forthcoming feature film.

Unexpected Perspectives by Scott Dickey, Ringling School of Art and Design
Interesting multi-panel, comic book style

f8 by Jason Wen, Crystalline Lens 12-minute sci-fi short, with a Blade Runner aesthetic, nicely directed and "shot."
