In Artificial Reality II, Myron Kreuger says, "the past catches up with you when you stop moving." He was referring to one of his installations, with a "video echo" effect.

We sped back into the city in Patrick's mint 1967 Mercury through a torrential downpour on the Hutchinson Parkway, passing many stone bridges and many trees. In New York the artifice comes from every direction, from subterranean flashes beneath sidewalk grates to flashbulbs from the Empire State Building.
